Math
Strong foundational math skills are the key to a successful career as a student of mathematics, and these skills can have a significant impact on a student’s mastery of other content areas as well. Each math skill builds successively off of the one taught previously. When a student is unable to attain proficiency in one year of math instruction, parents and teachers often find that the experience creates an ongoing pattern of low math scores and a decline in a student’s math confidence.
Our tutors work with students of all ages to build that strong foundation with individualized math plans for each student. Some of our students are provided with foundational math support to fill in gaps that exist from previous years of instruction. Some gain strategic reinforcement and reteaching of content to ensure the mastery of grade-level skills and benchmarks.
Still others take advantage of our math enrichment services. Our tutors work with high-achieving math students in elementary, middle, and high school to ask mathematical questions about the world around them and to practice solving inquiry-based challenge problems using logic and a toolbox of skills to approach each new adventure.

TESTIMONIAL
“I’ve always been highly impressed by the rigor and cohesion of Eliza’s curriculum work. The units and lessons she designs are intellectual and engaging for her students, and highlight her instructional leadership. That’s just one reason I’ve been so pleased for Eliza to work as a coach with our aspiring teachers at Boston University.”
